Texas Hold’em is the most popular of all poker variations. Discovering how to play a game of Texas Hold’em poker is not difficult and the simplicity of its rules, gameplay, and hand-ranking all contribute to the popularity of the game.
In the game of Texas Hold’em Poker, you do not play
against other players but against the dealer. You place your ante (starting
bet) and just like real Texas Hold’em you are dealt two cards, which are face
up on the table. The dealer is dealt two cards that remain face down. The flop
is also turned, the first three community cards.
If you continue based on your own cards and the flop,
you call and make an extra bet. If not, you fold and you don’t have to call,
but you have lost your Ante. If you call, the turn and river card are then
turned. You now know which combination you have, or which hand.
Then the dealer cards are also shown and it is
determined whether and if so what you have won. If the dealer cards are too low
(less than a 4 pair), the dealer does not qualify. In that case you will only
receive a profit for your ante, your call bet will be returned.
However, if the dealer does qualify and your hand is
better, you will receive a profit on both your ante bet and your call. Where in
traditional poker the pot has grown through multiple bidding rounds, in this
game you can earn a lot due to the size of your hand. The payout depends on
your card combination.
Now that you know how Texas Hold’em works, it’s time
to put the theory into practice and play your first games. If you are
completely new to the game, you should go for play money options, first.
